Ana Paula Gil Soares

Independent researcher at University of Évora and the UNESCO Chair in Intangible Heritage with the project Urban Statuary – Cultural Heritage

She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Porto (2009), in Portugal, and did a Postdoctoral research (2014) with an individual and original project on Urban Statuary – Cultural Heritage at the University of Lisbon, in Portugal.

She holds a Master’s degree in Linguistics from the University of Lisbon (2002) and graduated in Modern Languages and Literatures (1989/ 1991) at the same university.

Former lecturer and teacher of Portuguese as a Foreign Language in Portugal and Germany. She also served as a teacher educator and trainer.

She served as Counselor for Education at the Portuguese Embassy in Berlin, in the Federal Republic of Germany.

Since 1999, she has been involved in the study of Cognitive Linguistics, Cognitive Semantics and Semiotics, Art and Culture and Cultural Heritage, both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, applied to the visual analysis of Urban Statuary corpora.
